Jeremy Balfour, Scottish Conservative and Unionist MSP, has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament to acknowledge the 150th anniversary of the world famous Caledonian Brewery, located on Slateford Road in Edinburgh.
The last remaining brewery in Edinburgh, the Caledonian Brewery uses traditional brewing techniques to brew beers with a distinctive character.
Commenting Jeremy said:
“Congratulations to the whole team at Caledonian Brewery as they celebrate the 150th anniversary of the brewery.
“Back in 1869 Edinburgh had 42 breweries but today the Caledonian Brewery is the last remaining brewery in Edinburgh. The brewery has literally risen from the ashes on two occasions when fires swept through the brewery in 1994 and 1998.
“A commitment to using the finest ingredients along with the enthusiasm and dedication of the team clearly plays a very important part in the longevity of this brewery.”
