Jeremy Balfour, Scottish Conservative and Unionist MSP for Lothian, has questioned the Scottish Government on their plans to revive their ‘continuity’ bill ahead of leaving the EU.
During Portfolio Question Time on Wednesday afternoon, Mr Balfour asked the SNP government to explain what advice they had received around the effect that the legal date of the UK’s exit from the EU will have on their continuity bill.
The Lothian MSP has made clear that he does not see the need for this bill to be revived and instead encourages the SNP to focus on more important issues.
“The decision that was made by the Supreme Court in regard to the SNP’s continuity bill was without a doubt the correct decision.
“The SNP must stop attempting to revive their faulty wrecking bill and accept the decision of the Supreme Court.
“It is time for Nicola Sturgeon to stop seeking out judicial confrontation and instead get back to the day job.”
